Seven Steps of Salvation

Step one - You must realize you are a sinner.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts." 1 John 1:10 (NLT)

Step Two - You must realize you can't save yourself.

"Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again,[a] you cannot see the Kingdom of God." John 3:3 (NLT)

"When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit." Titus 3:5 (NLT)

Step three - You must realize that Jesus Christ came into the world and gave His life to save sinners.

"For this is how God loved the world: He gave[a] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NLT)

"This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all." 1 Timothy 1:15 (NLT)

Step four - You must repent: be sorry for your sins and turn from them.

"Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38 (NLT)

"People who conceal their sins will not prosper,  but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. " Proverbs 28:13 (NLT)

Step five - You must confess (tell) your sins to God who alone has power to save and to cleanse from sin through the blood of Jesus.

"Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”   And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone." Psalm 32:5 (NLT)

"But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." 1 John 1:9 (NLT)

Step six - You must call upon Jesus Christ in sincere and earnest prayer.

"You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father." John 14:13 (NLT)

"Then call on me when you are in trouble,  and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory." Psalm 50:15 (NLT)

Step seven - You must believe and by faith receive Jesus so He can control your life.

"I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours." Mark 11:24 (NLT)

"But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. " John 1:12 (NLT)

Open your heart now, receive Jesus Christ, and take up your cross daily and follow Him. You are now a child of God, cleansed by the blood, and adopted into His family.

All of your life has been affected: "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT). You will want to keep close to the Father by reading the Bible, praying, and fellowshipping together with other Christians. Then you can walk daily with Jesus, and enjoy His presence and peace. "I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid." John 14:27 (NLT)
