Baptism

What is baptism?

The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ.
Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their heart-felt commitment to follow Him.

The Bible defines baptism as:

A sign of identification
Acts 8:36-38

Symbolic of death and resurrection
Romans 6:4-5

Representative of a cleansing
1 Peter 3:21

Important step of obedience in Scripture
Matthew 28:19-20, 1 John 2:3

TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” ( Acts 2:38 )

Baptism isn’t what saves you, but it’s an outward symbol of your inner commitment to follow Christ. In a way, baptism is a lot like a wedding ring. The ring doesn’t make you married, but it’s a symbol of your love and devotion to your spouse, and that your life is being lived for someone else.
