Day 1

21 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING BEGINS TODAY. Today and every
day I will share with you one of the names of God and give a few thoughts
about it. You may take these little nuggets about who our powerful Lord is
and include it in your daily prayer. Declare His great name…it will help
build your faith and serve as a weapon of spiritual warfare against the
enemy. As we begin this first day, it is important to realize that the names
of God described in the Bible speak of His essence and character. The
names of God reveal the nature of God.
First, He is El Roi-The God who Sees. 13  Then she called the name of
the LORD who spoke to her, You-Are- [a] the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, “Have I also
here seen Him who sees me?” (Genesis 16:13)
In this passage God appeared to Hagar when she fled to the desert
because the mistreatment of Abram’s wife, Sarai (before their name
change). God took the time to meet Hagar right where she was. She was
not insignificant to Him–and God provided exactly what she needed.
God is still El Roi today. He sees you and your pain, and you matter greatly
to Him! In your prayer today thank Him that He is El Roi–the God who
sees. Pray that He would look down on you, have mercy on you, guard
you with His truth, and lead you in the way He wants you to go.
